This book is a sister project, part of the much larger project undertaken by the two of us, with the help of many volunteers. The project is an outgrowth of the massive Hindi Film Geet Kosh (1980-) series of books compiled by the first author. The website is planned to contain all the data in the Geet Kosh, suitably expanded and revised by including the latest information.
The whole history of the Geet Kosh may be read in the My Story section of the above-mentioned website. Suffice it to say that after the pioneering work of Firoze Rangoonwalla and BV Dharap, Geet Kosh was a unique and original compilation work expanding the earlier work in many directions.
The database on the website is divided into three section for convenience. The Censor Certificate section has the information about the censored films. The Filmography section has the information about film production and other details. The Song section has detailed information about the songs.
It is a work in progress. Books on the Censor Certificate Information in English and HINDI were published earlier.

This is a reference book on the above subject. It has the title, the censor year, producer, director, lyricist, music director, other music credits, cast, additional cast consisting of the Junior Artists and Background dancers. People researching Hindi films will find this book useful.

The book is in HINDI, 6" by 9", 301 pages, Table of Contents.  English Edition was published earlier.

This the fifth book  in the series is based on the Song Section and contains the Song Picturization of Hindi Talkies Feature Films from 1951 to 1960, based on the films available to us. Here you will find names of the main singers and dancers and also of the background dancers and junior artists.

This is a reference book. It has the title, the censor year, song title, singers, onsrcreen main artists and Junior Artists and Background dancers. People researching Hindi films will find this book useful.

ALI(VE) in Bits And Pieces by Ali Peter John.

In this book, the well-known editor of Screen Weekly for 48 years, Ali Peter John describes his life, his 'strange' name, his early life of utter deprivation and misery, the life and death of his parents, and the dire circumstances in which he completed his education. He describes how he happened to send a postcard to the famous Indian writer Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and his subsequent employment in Blitz and Screen. He ends his poignant story with his thoughts on God, Humanity, Life and Death. All in all an engrossing book.

This is the second edition of his earlier autobiography, Life in Bits and Pieces, a bestseller translated into many languages.

Ali Peter John has had several problems with his name. He does not have a ration card, nor does he have a passport, all because of his odd-sounding name. He is an M. A. in English literature from the Bombay University, but he believes that he has learnt more in the University of Abbas than he has learnt at the university.
He was writing for India's prominent film magazine Screen for forty-eight long years and his column, Ali's Notes, has been accepted as a landmark by the film industry and readers who has been following him. He has written in almost all the newspapers and magazines of India on a variety of subjects about films. He has published twenty books during the last twenty years in his own way. The most prominent book according to him is his autobiography, Life-Bits and Pieces, which had its cover designed by the renowned painter M. F. Husain, the autobiography has also been translated in various languages. His circle of friends includes all the legends and down to .
He has been living his own simple life without expecting anything from life. He is now writing for a leading Hindi film magazine Mayapuri and at 71, he writes at least two articles every day. He hopes to write till he can no longer write.
